Partners of Yojana

In India Yojana works with only six partners, but we do it very intensively. In this way our work remains clear and verifiable and it enables us to develop innovative and fresh working methods. Yojana maintains a long-lasting cooperation with all partners that are all applying the following basic principles:

  • Aid is given regardless of political or religious background.
  • Training gets the highest priority. Together with our project partners we strive for an increase the sense of involvement, self-awareness and self-confidence of the local polution.
  • The projects should have a positive impact on the position of girls and women.
  • • The projects are not only implemented for the community, but where possible together with the people.

Socio-Economic Development Trust (SEDT)
Relation since 1981

SEDT was launched in 1980 by Suryakant (Sulu for friends) and his wife  Manik.

The Kulkarni's began with the launch of the orphanage Dreamland, primarily for the children of prostitutes in Pune. Gradually they won the confidence of the people in the rural village Kerwadi and the 90 villages around. Since then a wide range of village development projects was launched. Since 1980, Yojana has always kept contact with SEDT and is regarded by the staff of SEDT as the founding father.

Sulu Kulkarni and his staff have developed often original and creative, but always efficient approaches to problems. They have managed to involve entrepreneurs who previously exploited children in their company in the training of those children. They always insist on the government to take responsibility for a number of abuses. That is a matter of patience, but finally it works.

In the original campus the Dreamland hostel and offices of SEDT are located. Also, most staff lives here. For them there is no housing available nearby. The second campus is called the Women Development Center (WDC), where many courses are organized. Nowadays, it is not just for women but for everyone who in one way or another is involved in education, or at least should be. Furthermore, at WDC housing is created for about one hundred children, who were previously child laborer, but who now receive training.

Projects are SEDT EDU-KEY, The Discovery Center and women's programs.

Donations to SEDT can be made on the account mentioned below. This account will be fully controlled by the board of Yojana Project Help Netherlands and can only be used for donations by Indian citizens, living in India (in Indian rupees). Please mention for which program you want your contribution to be used.

Yerala Project Society (YPS) partner jal.jpg (8963 bytes)
Relation since 1985

YPS was started around thirty years ago as an organization that provided relief in this drought-affected part of India at the border between the states Maharashtra and Karnataka. Over the years, the aid, which was concentrated in the area Kamlapur, has considerably changed the lives of the people there. The structural approach has achieved a lot. The results in Kamlapur did not go unnoticed. The inhabitants of the impoverished territory Jalihal heard of the improvements and also asked YPS to help themselves. In 1999 YPS began its work in YPS Jalihal and was successful there. YPS in this arid region founded a campus with residential facilities for the staff, meeting rooms, a school, a health centre, a hostel and a science laboratory. The Curi-O-City Center is located in the same campus.

The projects are YPS EDU-KEY, The Discovery Center and health project.

Donations to YPS can be made on the account mentioned below.
